About Us

Divine Word Secondary School, Lumshnong, operates under the SHALOM Society , with its headquarters located in Lumshnong. The school is run by Fathers of Society of Divine Word (SVD). The school community, both staff and students, finds inspiration in the legacy of St. Arnold Janssen, the founder of the Society of the Divine Word in 1875.

Established in 2010, Divine Word School saw its inaugural batch of SSLC students graduate in 2020, boasting an impressive pass percentage of 95.45%. By the academic year 2022-2023, the school achieved a perfect pass rate of 100%. Affiliated with the MBOSE Board, Tura, Meghalaya, Divine Word Secondary School Lumshnong ensures its students receive quality education.

As a beacon of learning for rural children, the school serves as a guiding light, nurturing the minds and hearts of every student. Presently, the institution accommodates 1005 students and employs 25 dedicated staff members.

MISSION OF THE SCHOOL

To provide holistic and integral development to students enabling them to grow as persons of character, competence, conscience, compassion and commitment, who will take their rightful place in the society contributing to build a new and better India that is more inclusive and sensitive to the tribals and Dalits, the migrants in search of refuge, the young in search of meaning in life and with the people of other faith traditions and cultures.
